Shifting Workforce is an initiative born of the "EUvsVirus" hackathon. Covid-19 has an disruptive impact on our economy. Many people are losing their jobs due to economical breakdown in some sectors. At the same time other sectors are looking for people to strengthen their workforce. These changes are highly sector-, location- and skill- specific and very intransparent both for people looking for jobs and policy makers.
Shifting workforce helps to identify rising sectors and match them with available workforce. In order to do so, we created a platform which shows the changing needs of different sectors to enable a more efficient job-search and seamless transition from one sector to another. On this website, we offer a reliable overview of open job-offers by sector and skill as well as how demand changed in the past.
Like this, we are helping to facilitate economic growth after the crisis by absorbing some of the shocks of the crisis in the job market. Furthermore we want to assist the traditional job market by making it more transparent and increase the chances of re-employment and decrease individual suffering. In the long run, this project will help anyone who is looking for a job.
